With the efforts of Knowledge based TABA Engineering and Service Company and with the support of the Saba Southwest Power Generation Company, an increase of 120 megawatts in Khorramshahr Combined Cycle Power Plant was realized through the successful implementation of the gas turbine inlet air cooling system project using the Media method. In this power plant, 20 megawatts were added to the basic production capacity in each gas unit with the implementation of the Media system. Therefore, due to having 6 gas units, a total of 120 megawatts was added to the capacity of the national electricity network in the conditions of peak consumption and electricity shortage in the country.
According to the latest statistics of the Ministry of Energy, the per capita consumption of electricity per household subscriber in the year was on average about 3083 kilowatt hours, which will be about 8.5 kilowatt hours per day for the subscriber. With the successful implementation of this project by Taba company and including 10 hours of operation of each cooler per day, the amount of 1200 megawatt hours will be supplied by this company, which is equivalent to the daily electricity consumption of 140,000 household subscribers.
It is worth mentioning that "Khoramshahr Combined Cycle Power Plant" was established in Khoramshahr, Arvand Free Zone, at km 8 of the old Khoramshahr-Ahvaz road, in 2009. This power plant is one of Iran's combined cycle power plants with a production capacity of 1452 megawatts, which includes 6 gas units of 162 megawatts and 3 steam units of 160 megawatts (a total of 3 combined cycle blocks) by the B.O.O method, located on a land of 130 hectares.
